About the Role

This position is responsible for identifying training needs, developing training materials, and facilitating training. You will provide training, guidance, and leadership for new training specialists, develop performance assessments and testing materials, manage trainees, and communicate effectively with area management on trainee performance.

Schedule

This is a full-time (40-hours/week) position with a Monday-Friday schedule, fully onsite. You will work an 8-hour shift during normal business hours of 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Occasional overtime may be required due to business needs. You may need to travel between buildings.

Location: 4101 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229-8320.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and prioritize training projects from needs assessments to final delivery, ensuring customer specifications and deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate technical and non-technical training for employees, business partners, external customers, and other audiences.
  • Contribute expertise as a member of various functional groups.
  • Develop, revise, and update training materials, including trainee and training performance assessments and testing materials.
  • Analyze and identify training solutions using blended learning techniques and innovative technology/tools to meet business goals.
  • Gather data from quality audits and team development surveys to incorporate into training deliveries.
  • Track and monitor team interactions, providing feedback to trainees and their management.
  • Identify developmental needs and provide guidance, coaching, and train-the-trainer sessions as needed.
  • Prepare reports and presentation materials as requested.
  • Facilitate training for all levels of management.
  • Evaluate training trends, techniques, and programs.
  • Perform additional tasks to support the training area, such as maintaining training databases, reports, and assessments.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree. Degree equivalency: 4 years of job-related work experience or an Associate’s degree with 2 years of job-related work experience.
  • Experience: 3 years of job-related work experience, including 2 years of training experience and 1 year of insurance-related work experience.
  • Software and Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard classroom/office equipment. Familiarity with training technology (e.g., audio/visual, virtual, podcasts, webinars, tele-conferencing, and other training tools).

  • Demonstrated skills in training material development and classroom presentations for large groups and diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of Adult Learning Principles and appropriate learning development methodologies.
