About the role
This position involves conducting studies to analyze mission objectives, policies, work operations, and progress. It also entails operating various simulators and providing training support and services.
Responsibilities
- Conducts studies to analyze mission objectives, policies, work operations, and progress.
- Operates simulators such as Call For Fire Trainer, EST 2000, CDT, HEAT, and various components of the MILES/TADSS program.
- Supports the customer base in training instruction, training requirements, property accountability, and preventive maintenance.
- Makes recommendations on format and design for classroom materials or briefing items.
- Evaluates training curricula and courseware materials to identify training gaps.
- Troubleshoots simulator hardware and software discrepancies to minimize system downtime.
- Conducts training instruction on virtual simulators to certify personnel and update course materials.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
Qualifications
- One year of specialized experience which includes that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes experience instructing military and civilian personnel on the deployment, operations to ensure high-fidelity training preparedness and mission readiness; evaluating training curricula, and courseware materials to identify training gaps; troubleshooting simulator hardware and software discrepancies to minimize system downtime; conducting training instruction on virtual simulators to certify personnel and update course materials in alignment with established training objectives.
- Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education.
