About the role

We're looking for a Training Coach - MA to join our dynamic team at GoHealth Urgent Care. This role is crucial in helping new and existing team members develop the skills and confidence to excel in their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and validate team members' technical skills using pre-approved methods and procedures.
  • Conduct orientation and training sessions to cover predetermined learning items.
  • Host Learning Coach Workshops as needed.
  • Complete classroom-based training and Airtable compliance documentation.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate new hires with challenging schedules.
  • Provide in-center coaching and hands-on training to new team members.
  • Offer support and training to other Training Coaches nationally.
  • Attend mandatory operations/learning meetings and conduct patient registration.
  • Manage and track completion of Core Competency Checklist items.
  • Document and report on team member performance.
  • Perform various patient care responsibilities as outlined in the Medical Assistant Guideline document.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred.
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience under a licensed healthcare supervisor within the last 3 years preferred.
  • CPOE must be obtained within 2 weeks of hire if Medical Assistant Certification is not obtained upon hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One of the following certifications is required at time of hire:
    • ARMA - American Registry of Medical Assistants
    • CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA)
    • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA)
    • RMA - Registered Medical Assistant (verified through AMT or AAH)
    • NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant (verified through NCCT)
    • NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (verified through the National Association for Health Professionals)
  • One of the following certifications is required at time of hire:
    • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN/RN
    • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician (verified through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
    • CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
  • Proficient use and understanding of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant experience preferred for Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or 2+ years of experience within the last 3 years under a licensed healthcare supervisor in lieu of a Medical Assistant program.
  • Training or related experience required.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Urgent care experience preferred.
