TRAINING ASSESSOR
About the role
Based in Bridgend at HMP Parc, this role offers an opportunity to support learners with Level 1 and 2 qualifications. The position is permanent and requires 4 days a week, with flexible working hours from 7:30am to 4:30pm on Mondays to Thursdays.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality vocational competency-based curriculum up to a Level 2 utilizing awarding body standards/criteria.
- Understand the standards for the awards being delivered and assess them.
- Maintain accurate learner records in line with policies and procedures, GDPR, and contractual requirements.
- Communicate effectively with learners and prison staff to build relationships and overcome learning barriers.
- Maintain a full caseload of learners and generate starts through excellent communication skills and relationship building.
- Monitor learner attendance and progress through regular learner assessment and reviews.
- Ensure all completed portfolios are submitted for IQA within 5 days of learner completion.
Requirements
- Hold a recognised Assessor award: D32/33, A1, CAVA or TAQA.
- Experience of managing a caseload of at least 30 learners (per quarter).
- A good level of IT skills.
- Flexibility to work at multiple locations.
- Full, current driving license and use of a vehicle, which is insured for business use.
Qualifications
Desirable but not essential: PMO experience.

Pay
£25k – £27k depending on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
7:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday (No Friday working).
Skills
Qualified Assessor, IT skills, flexibility to work at multiple locations, full driving license, and ability to use a vehicle insured for business use.
