About the role
The Quality Control Trainer at Curia is responsible for developing and delivering training programs that ensure Quality Control personnel are qualified to perform their roles in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This role requires a combination of instructional design skills, facilitation, and subject matter expertise.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute qualification programs for QC techniques and instrumentation
- Single point of accountability for the new QC employees and refreshers for the existing QC employees
- Analyze deviations, OOS/OOT results, and lab errors to identify training needs
- Ensure all training aligns with cGMP requirements and internal quality systems
- Design and deliver instructor-led and hands-on training for QC analysts (e.g., HPLC, GC, wet chemistry, dissolution); create and maintain training materials
- Develop structured multi-month onboarding programs for new hires and cross-training plans for existing staff
- Translate complex analytical methods and SOPs into clear, trainable content
- Facilitate both classroom and laboratory-based training sessions
- Reinforce principles of data integrity (ALCOA+) in all training activities
- Maintain training compliance in accordance with regulatory expectations (e.g., audit readiness)
- Assess analyst competency through observation, practical assessments, and knowledge checks
- Maintain training matrices and ensure timely qualification/requalification
- Implement training improvements to reduce repeat errors and improve right-first-time performance
- Partner with QC management, QA, and Manufacturing to align training with operational needs
- Ensure safety practices are being followed during any instructor-led training
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field and 5-7 years of related work experience
- Strong hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV, and wet chemistry
- Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
- Organization: Extremely organized and pays attention to detail. Adept at prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
- Communication: Writes and speaks with clarity. Is an engaging and succinct presenter. Simplifies complex technical concepts for a range of learners
- Leadership: Coaching mindset with ability to provide constructive feedback, ability to work with employees of different skill levels
- Strategy: Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Collaboration: Works well with team members, SMEs and other stakeholders to deliver programming. Builds productive working relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Instructional design: Incorporates user experience design principles to structure instructor-led training
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations (e.g., FDA guidelines)
- Experience with LMS platforms and training documentation systems
