Quality Technician/Trainer
About the role
A Quality Technician/Trainer at TekniPlex plays a crucial role in ensuring quality standards are met and customer expectations are achieved. Reporting to the manufacturing Production Manager, this position involves direct involvement in the production floor, conducting audits, and training employees.
Responsibilities
- Follow and promote all safety initiatives and requirements.
- Review and understand standard work policies, JBS instructions, and quality procedures relevant to operations and product manufacturing.
- Conduct weekly follow-ups with the manager on the status of training for new employees and their progress towards expected performance standards.
- Assess product manufacturing and work with operators to address concerns regarding product condition or workmanship.
- Perform multiple daily route visits to machines and finished goods staging at the banding line to inspect material, packing, tickets, and paperwork.
- Drive manufacturing processes to optimize production efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Collaborate with the Process Engineer to create, maintain, and implement effective process conditions and operating procedures.
- Participate in commissioning new and upgrading existing manufacturing equipment.
- Engage in problem-solving and RCCA activities for internal improvements and customer complaint investigations as directed by the manager.
- Write concise and effective reports, communicate information logically, and use appropriate grammar.
- Train employees and guide them in a positive and progressive manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum: 2-year degree in technical or quality field; ASQ certification or similar.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in flexible packaging manufacturing with emphasis on operations auditing or machine process and operation.
- Specific Skills Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to think strategically, exercise independent judgment, and solve problems; ability to work cohesively with multi-functional development and process teams; ability to train employees and guide in a positive and progressive manner.
