The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges, those who have suffered a trauma, and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Therapist Qualified Mental Health Professional who exemplifies that mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference.

Schedule

Monday & Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Tuesday–Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective individual, couples, and family counseling as assigned
  • Complete clinical assessments that meet the requirements of program funders and applicable administrative rules
  • Refer clients for community-based case management services as needed
  • Provide case management services as medically necessary
  • Complete required documentation (IM+CANS, encounters, consents) on a timely basis
  • Meet minimum service provision and billing standards
  • Acquire and maintain required certifications and trainings
  • Abide by AID’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain professional judgment and performance regardless of personal issues
  • Promote awareness and respect for the diversity of clients, employees, families, and other stakeholders
  • Work with a team of service providers within the agency and throughout the social service community to ensure all client needs are met
  • Attendance at scheduled work hours, including evening hours
  • Services provided in family and individual treatment settings for both adults and children/adolescents, including Spanish-speaking or second-language clients
  • Services offered both onsite and in the community/client home

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a human services field
  • License preferred (LPC or LSW)
  • At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health preferred
  • Flexibility to work evening hours
  • Use of personal automobile
  • Maintain automobile liability insurance as defined by AID’s personnel policies
  • Maintain valid Illinois driver’s license
  • Meet and maintain driving record standards as defined by AID’s insurance carrier
  • Navigation of stairs on a regular basis
  • Tolerance of unkempt home conditions of clients
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications
  • Ability to use copy machine, telephone with voice mail system, and computer
