About the role
This position is located at Air Liquide's TGCM Operations in Marcy, NY. The role involves managing the safe and reliable distribution of gases and chemicals used in the production of electronics materials. Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining gas and chemical distribution equipment, transferring materials to hazardous waste storage areas, and supporting inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Support the proper transfer of materials to the dock hazardous waste storage area
- Maintain the dock hazardous storage area
- Utilize appropriate documentation, equipment, and procedures to ensure the proper management of hazardous waste
- Ensure proper labeling of hazardous waste
- Follow established procedures for handling spills/emergencies
- Absorb materials using a forklift safely
- Support waste minimization programs/activities
- Maintain a clear understanding of applicable hazardous waste laws
- Help coordinate inventory control of chemicals and gas cylinders
- Collaborate with customers to resolve issues
- Build alignment with customers and suppliers to support timely deliveries and maintain correct inventory levels
- Provide constructive feedback to customers and management when actual performance varies significantly from forecast and is impacting inventory levels
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED OR 5+ years of experience
- 3+ years of related experience
- Ability to identify and analyze situations when customer forecast does not equal actual usage
- Ability to utilize Min/Mix system to accurately forecast
- Familiarity with Inventory Control Applications
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good communication skills: ability to follow/give both written and verbal instructions
- Evidence of previous work in a successful team environment, act as a mentor to all junior technicians
- Knowledge of all proper reporting procedures per onsite operations policy, including product acceptance criteria, tank fill, inventory and material usage, monitoring, safety parameters and personnel requirements
- Self-motivated to learn
- Display aptitude for controlling an emergency situation and coordinating problem-solving actions
- Able to understand and abide by stringent safety rules
Qualifications
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 60 lbs, stand/walk up to 11 hours per day, operate hydraulic foot pump (55 gallon drums - drums could be up to 500 lbs), wear a respirator as part of required PPE for certain job tasks
