About the Role

Manages stocked items and provides customers with pricing, product use, and technical information. Serves as the primary point of contact for all requisitions and alerts, entering and updating them in the automated system. Monitors and follows up on overdue or urgent customer requests.

  • Processes and manages requisition modifications for open orders and communicates changes to customers.
  • Reviews end-item status and other key data to adjust parts strategies and prevent recurring unfilled orders.
  • Researches alternative support methods and recommends approved sourcing options for long lead times or emergency needs.
  • Investigates and resolves data entry issues, material ordering problems, customer complaints, and deficiency reports.
  • Prepares responses to general inquiries from DLA customers.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen. Tour of Duty: Set schedule 0600-1430. Non-Critical Sensitive security requirements. Appointment is subject to a favorable suitability or fitness determination. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. Selectees must have a REAL ID or acceptable identification documents for federal facility access.

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce position requiring DoD certification and other requirements.
  • Drug-Free Workplace: Pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing required. Refusal or positive test results in withdrawal of job offer or removal from federal service.

Qualifications

To qualify, your resume must support one of the following:

  • Education Substitution: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D. if related. Education must be from an accredited institution. Transcripts required if using education to qualify.
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, including:
    • Retail supply, inventory management, material coordination, awaiting parts processes, and supporting repair programs.
    • Customer support for consumable and exchangeable parts for depot maintenance and repair.
    • Order fulfillment using distribution systems and ordering applications.
    • Applying procurement regulations to investigate and resolve customer concerns.
  • Combination: Combinations of post-high school education and experience may be used to meet qualifications for GS-09. Percentages of qualifying experience and education must total 100%.

Foreign education must be evaluated by a private organization for U.S. equivalency. Experience includes paid, unpaid, or volunteer work.

Additional Information

  • DoD Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics (L) Foundational Level Certification required within specified timeframes, with 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every 2 years.
