About the role

This position is within the TGCM Waste/Inventory Specialist role at Air Liquide in Marcy, NY. The role supports the on-site management of gases and chemicals for semiconductor manufacturing customers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the proper transfer of materials to the dock hazardous waste storage area
  • Maintain the dock hazardous storage area
  • Utilize appropriate documentation, equipment, and procedures to ensure the proper management of hazardous waste
  • Ensure proper labeling of hazardous waste
  • Follow established procedures for handling spills/emergencies
  • Absorb materials as needed
  • Segregate compatible materials
  • Prepare waste/containers for shipment
  • Operate a forklift safely
  • Support waste minimization programs/activities
  • Maintain a clear understanding of applicable hazardous waste laws
  • Coordinate inventory control of chemicals and gas cylinders
  • Cook up production schedules for the manufacturing operation
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve issues
  • Build alignment with customers and suppliers to support timely deliveries and maintain correct inventory levels
  • Provide constructive feedback to customers and management when actual performance varies significantly from forecast and is impacting inventory levels

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED OR 5+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Ability to identify and analyze situations when customer forecast does not equal actual usage
  • Ability to utilize Min/Mix system to accurately forecast
  • Familiarity with Inventory Control Applications
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good communication skills: Ability to follow/give both written and verbal instructions
  • Evidence of previous work in a successful team environment, act as a mentor to all junior technicians
  • Knowledge of all proper reporting procedures per onsite operations policy, including product acceptance criteria, tank fill, inventory and material usage, monitoring, safety parameters and personnel requirements
  • Self-motivated to learn
  • Display aptitude for controlling an emergency situation and coordinating problem-solving actions
  • Able to understand and abide by stringent safety rules

Qualifications

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 60 lbs, stand/walk up to 11 hours per day, operate hydraulic foot pump (55 gallon drums - drums could be up to 500 lbs), wear a respirator as part of required PPE for certain job tasks
