TEST SBAdjunct Academic Advisor (Part-Time)

Duties

• Provides educational information about college academic programs and services for prospective and currently enrolled students;
• Orients new students toward an informed and successful start to their college experience;
• Assists students in assessing their interest and abilities by examining their educational goals, making decisions and developing short and long-term educational plans to meet their planned objectives;
• Interprets and reviews college placement examinations, Advanced Placement (AP), ACT / SAT scores, IB and CLEP (College Level Examination Placement) to ensure proper course selection;
• Provides accurate and timely information related to Career Programs and Transfer courses;
• Demonstrates knowledge about educational, institutional, corporate and community resources, as well as other college-wide programs and services.

• Candidates should possess knowledge of academic advising theories and practices that support teaching, learning, and human development;
• Prior experience working with a variety of students that include various levels of academic preparedness, multicultural and linguistic diversity, and economic status;
