Job Summary
Serve as the first point of contact for students, prospective students, and visitors in the Academic Advising Office, providing professional, courteous, and student-centered customer service. Perform front desk and receptionist responsibilities in a positive, welcoming, and efficient manner while creating a warm and supportive environment for all guests.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
- Assist students in person, by phone, and through other communication channels with scheduling advising appointments, answering general questions, and navigating college resources and services.
- Triage student needs, direct individuals to appropriate departments or support services, and proactively communicate student demand and service needs to advising staff.
- Utilize college resources, including the Advising website and college A–Z index, to provide accurate information and timely responses to frequently asked questions.
- Support office operations during peak enrollment and registration periods by assisting with crowd management and maintaining an organized, customer-focused environment.
- Refer students to campus resources that support their academic and personal success and help ensure a seamless student experience.

- Punctuality is essential due to the student-facing nature of this role.
- Candidates must demonstrate a high level of dependability, professionalism, and reliability.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening, verbal communication, and interpersonal effectiveness, are required, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and proactive problem-solving.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School graduate or GED.
- One year of customer service experience in an office setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education.
