Duties

The Counseling & Career Development Center is seeking adjunct/part-time Counselors (grant-funded) to perform a variety of counseling services to facilitate the academic, career and personal growth of Moraine Valley students.

• Providing individual and group counseling
• Intervening with academically at-risk students
• Consulting with faculty and staff regarding student concerns
• Attending to students in crisis
• Assisting students facing financial emergencies
• Facilitating workshops and seminars
• Supporting departmental programming

Qualifications

The position requires a strong commitment to promoting student learning, development and success through holistic counseling services to meet the changing needs of a highly diverse student population. Applicants should have academic training and/or experience with counseling multicultural and linguistically diverse students. Individuals with fluency in more than one language, especially in Spanish, are encouraged to apply. Applicants with a passion for working with academically at-risk students are desired.
