Montgomery County Parks is seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused Tennis Professionals to join our team at the Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center and Wheaton Indoor Tennis Center. This is an exciting opportunity to teach players of all ages and skill levels in a fun, year-round indoor environment while working alongside a dedicated team of tennis professionals.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to teach players of all ages and skill levels in a fun, year-round indoor environment while working alongside a dedicated team of tennis professionals. Whether you’re introducing beginners to the game or helping experienced players improve, you’ll play an important role in delivering high-quality instruction and exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.
  • Maintain attendance records and student evaluations.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and respond professionally to participant feedback.
  • Collaborate with management and fellow Tennis Professionals to ensure high-quality programming.
  • Recommend appropriate class placements based on student progress.
  • Attend staff meetings and support camps, special events, and year-round programming.

Requirements

  • Passion for teaching tennis and growing the game.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Experience teaching players of all ages and skill levels.
  • Current RSPA Level 1 Instructor, USTA Coaching Professional, PTR Level 1 certification, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of 10 & Under Tennis instructional methods; adaptive tennis experience is a plus.
  • Availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

This seasonal, part-time position does not include benefits and is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.
