Tennis Facility Instructor Positions - Seasonal

About the role

Montgomery County Parks, Enterprise Division, is seeking dynamic, energetic, and fun Tennis Instructors to teach at either Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center at Cabin John Regional Park or the Wheaton Indoor Tennis Center.

Responsibilities

  • Teach group junior and adult lessons
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Ensure proper record keeping such as class attendance
  • Provide excellent customer service and follow up on customer concerns and feedback
  • Give managers feedback on student performance and assure students are in the best fit for their level
  • Maintain and distribute student evaluation forms
  • Forward all concerns to manager

Requirements

  • USPTA (Level 1 Instructor) or PTR (Level 1) certification as well as experience with 10 and Under Tennis instructional methods, equipment, and play formats. Wheelchair/adaptive tennis experience also desirable.
  • Work hours include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be flexible, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with diverse groups of people of all ages, abilities, and skill levels. The incumbent will be expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and good interpersonal skills. Will work closely with the Management team to increase participation at the indoor facilities and to ensure coverage of all group lesson programs and camps.

Skills

Excellent customer service skills, First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (training classes available), and attendance at in-house orientation are required.

Benefits

Seasonal (part-time) positions with no benefits. Wages are based on experience and qualifications and range from $22.00/hr to $34.00/hr.

Pay

$22.00/hr to $34.00/hr

Schedule

Flexible to include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Both facilities are open year-round.
