Temporary Student Service Coordinator (Part Time)

Hiring Department Student Success Center Job Description Funded by a $752,096 annual grant from the U.S. Department of Education, the University of Missouri-Columbia’s TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) Program serves 670 eligible undergraduate participants each year. Designed to support first-generation, low-income, and/or students with documented disabilities achieve academic success, MU’s TRiO SSS Program offers holistic services aimed at supporting participants in making a successful transition into MU and in strategically using their time at MU to advance their academic, career, and personal goals. Duties Organize and lead workshops and events addressing the goals, objectives, and required and permissible services of the program Lead efforts to recruit and support engagement efforts of new and continuing SSS Participants Maintain the MU TRiO SSS website, social media accounts, and external communications to ensure all meet university standards and are successful in engaging appropriate audiences Serve on appropriate committees and represent TRiO at events, as needed Other duties as assigned Shift 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a participant in a pre-college or college TRiO Project Prior experience working for a TRiO Project or other program offering academic support to first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and/or students with disabilities Demonstrated ability to relate to and the desire to work with first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and/or students with disabilities Master’s degree in a relevant field Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range: $20.00 -$22.00 hourly Grade: Salary Plan # GGS 008 University Title: Student Service Coordinator I commensurate with education and experience Application Materials Cover letter and resume Sponsorship Information Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
