About the role

We are looking for a Temporary HR Officer in the US to cover for someone while on maternity leave. The role spans 5-6 months, starting mid-November and ending at the end of May 2027. If you have a passion for people and an interest in all HR-related matters, this role might be the perfect fit.

As part of our team, you’ll assist with internal and external HR-related matters, working closely with the Human Resources team at Mediagenix’ headquarters. You’ll manage the organization’s employee database, produce and maintain HR reports, and compile and process employee documentation while keeping SharePoint, HiBob, and all HR data up to date. You’ll also play a key role in encouraging and supporting US employees in using the employee database.

Responsibilities

  • Independently run all payroll, benefits, and health insurance-related processes and work directly with our PEO.
  • Participate in the development and update of organizational guidelines and procedures based on changes to state and/or federal laws and regulations.
  • Schedule and coordinate onboarding assignments.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest HR laws, regulations, trends, and best practices in all relevant states.
  • Collaborate with our legal team on compliance, registrations in multiple states, business licenses, and corporate housekeeping/admin.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director, VP of Operations, and HQ finance, legal, and administration services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in HR.
  • Experience processing payroll (preferably in multiple states). Experience working with a PEO is a plus.
  • PHR Certification preferred.
  • Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
  • Hands-on, detailed, and solution-oriented approach with strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ideally based in the South Florida area.
  • Available to work 5-6 months starting mid-November and ending at the end of May 2027.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship indefinitely.
