Our client, an established company headquartered in the Salt Lake City area, is seeking an experienced HR Ops Specialist to provide temporary coverage for a member of their HR team who will be on leave. This is a high-trust, high-visibility role on a well-run HR team, owning the operational backbone that keeps benefits, leave compliance, and HRIS processes running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the benefits inbox and manage related invoices and system-generated integration file reports on a daily basis.
- Process weekly benefits funding requirements, verification reports, contribution submissions, and enrollment-related communications.
- Process and reconcile monthly invoices across the full slate of benefits vendors (medical, pharmacy, disability, legal, and related plans).
- Own day-to-day parental leave administration end-to-end, including inbox monitoring, casework, and ensuring ongoing FMLA compliance.
- Participate in the weekly ADA leave meeting, requiring familiarity with accommodation and leave compliance requirements.
- Support Workday-based processes, including prioritization queues, company-wide time off reporting, and contractor record maintenance.
- Handle offboarding administrative tasks, including termination shipping labels and support for multi-step severance agreement processing.
- Route legacy awards information to payroll and support periodic compliance reporting and audits (e.g., government wage surveys, internal audits).
- Manage day-to-day administrative ticketing and correspondence as needed.
Requirements
- Prior experience in HR operations, benefits administration, or a similar HR generalist/coordinator role.
- Working knowledge of employee benefits plans and enrollment processes.
- Familiarity with FMLA and general leave-of-absence compliance requirements.
- Experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS strongly preferred.
- Comfort managing invoice processing, reconciliation, and vendor payment deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to ramp up quickly and work independently after initial training.
Schedule
- Employment Type: Temporary / Contract, full-time hours.
- Work Location: Hybrid, in office Tuesdays & Thursdays, Salt Lake City, UT area, Office Hours 9am–5pm.
- Assignment Length: 3-5 months beginning September 2026, with a possibility of employment conversion.
