This position is for the UNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.

About the Role

The Math, Business, Science & Technology Division at the UNM Gallup Branch is seeking qualified temporary part-time faculty members to teach lower division (1000 - 2000 level) face-to-face courses and/or develop courses for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters in the following disciplines:

  • BUSA 11230 – Business Professional
  • BUSA 1210 – Records Management
  • BUSA 2240 – Customer Service in Business
  • OTEC 1101 – Beginning Keyboarding

UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching, including meeting face-to-face during assigned times (which may include evenings or weekends), content delivery, assignment development, grading, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.

Positions are contingent upon need each semester based on student enrollment levels, course offerings, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Selected candidates will report to the division chair.

Responsibilities

  • Teach face-to-face lower division courses in assigned disciplines
  • Develop course content and assignments
  • Deliver instruction during scheduled class times, including evenings or weekends
  • Grade assignments and report grades
  • Assess student learning as outlined by the division chair

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in the discipline or subfield for which you are applying

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of successful teaching experience at the community college level
  • Relevant industry experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university’s mission to serve local and global communities

Pay

Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on their credentials and credit hour course loads.
