About the Role

The University of New Mexico-Gallup Branch, Math, Business, Science, and Technology Division anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/or develop lower division courses (1000–2000 level) for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Positions are contingent upon need each semester based on student enrollment, course offerings, and demand driven by graduation requirements.

UNM Gallup is a two-year branch campus located approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, serving the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of its community through career and technical education, transfer programs, and community education.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses during scheduled times, which may include evenings or weekends.
• Develop and deliver course content, including assignments and assessments.
• Grade assignments and report grades in a timely manner.
• Assess student learning as outlined by the division chair.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in the discipline or subfield for which you are applying.
• A master’s degree or higher in a discipline other than that for which you are applying, and successful completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD, ABD, or EdD in the discipline or subfield for which you are applying.
• At least one year of successful teaching experience at the community college level.
• A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university’s mission to serve local and global communities.

Pay

Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on their credentials and credit hour course loads.
