Telephone Claims Adjuster - National General
About the role
National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering home, auto, and accident and health insurance, as well as other specialty niche insurance products. This role is remote and involves engaging with interested prospective customers through inbound and proactive outbound calls.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and confirm facts of loss for advanced automobile accidents.
- Determine coverage, liability, damages, and adjust or negotiate claims within the limits of authority.
- Handle investigation regarding all aspects of advanced auto claims, exercising discretion and independence.
- Recognize and identify body parts of a vehicle and understand potential property damage.
- Identify customer needs and work to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills.
- Determine subrogation or fraud potential and handle accordingly.
- Apply advanced understanding of insurance policies, industry standards, and organizational relationships within the company and department.
Requirements
Requires an active insurance license and must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and not hold any outside appointments during employment. Must possess authorization to work in the United States.
Qualifications
- Increased experience in the Adjuster II level or a rotation into a specialty position (Coverage, Investigation Specialist, Total Loss, Initial Handler, Extended Handler, etc.).
- Knowledge of reviewing, evaluating, and negotiating basic to moderate injury claims for claims involving injuries.
- Advanced understanding of insurance policies, industry standards, and organizational relationships within the company and department.

Benefits
Compensation includes a base salary and uncapped performance-based incentives. Compensation ranges from $21.20 to $50.24 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. National General Holdings Corp. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
Pay
Base compensation offered for this role is:
- Adjuster Analyst III: $21.20 — $34.69/hr
- Adjuster Consultant I: $26.49 — $40.99/hr
- Adjuster Consultant II: $28.03 — $43.70/hr
- Adjuster Sr Consultant I: $35.82 — $50.24/hr
Schedule
Remote work is provided with the necessary equipment and connectivity reimbursement. Employees must have a dedicated, private workspace with reliable internet.
