Telephone Claims Adjuster - National General
About the role
National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering home, auto, and accident and health insurance, as well as other specialty niche insurance products. Candidates local to Ontario, California will start and train in-office before transitioning to hybrid/remote roles within 6-12 months.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and confirm facts of loss for advanced automobile accidents
- Determine coverage, liability, damages, and adjust/negotiate claims within authority
- Handle investigation of all aspects of advanced auto claims with discretion and independence
- Recognize and identify body parts of a vehicle and understand potential property damage
- Identify customer needs and meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
- Determine subrogation or fraud potential and handle accordingly
- Apply advanced understanding of insurance policies
Requirements
Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
Qualifications
- Increased experience in the Adjuster II level or a rotation into a specialty position (Coverage, Investigation Specialist, Total Loss, Initial Handler, Extended Handler, etc.)
- For claims involving injuries, learn how to review, evaluate, and negotiate basic to moderate injury claims

Benefits
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation includes base compensation and incentive pay (commission, bonus, etc.).
Pay
- Adjuster Analyst III: $21.20 — $34.69/hr
- Adjuster Consultant I: $26.49 — $40.99/hr
- Adjuster Consultant II: $28.03 — $43.70/hr
- Adjuster Sr Consultant I: $35.82 — $50.24/hr
