Roles & Responsibilities
- Take a key role in developing, experimenting, and refining MITRE’s overall approach for industry enablement.
- Engage with industry and academia, and coach MITRE staff on Industry Engagement models.
- Lead projects with impact across all of MITRE (MITRE Public Sector, MITRE National Security, and MITRE Technology and Engineering).
- Frequent and in-depth engagement with external organizations such as industry, associations, academia, and government.
- Develop clear IP technology transition full lifecycle pathways in collaboration with MITRE Research & Development and prototype teams.
- Support the establishment of enabling industry access and use of MITRE infrastructure.
- Develop new policies, procedures, and agreements to create a front door to MITRE.
- Execute the MITRE industry engagement strategy and Nexus playbook with a whole of government approach and diverse acceleration models.
- Structure performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness including sustained mission impact, speed to capability adoption, and cost effectiveness.
- Develop deep insights and anticipate trends to enhance future industry enablement and engagement opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully contributing to planning, coordinating, and delivering complex technology products and/or outcomes that require extensive coordination of multiple contributing organizations from vision to successful realization.
- Understanding of the government’s effort to accelerate commercial solutions and increase capabilities related to critical and emerging technologies especially related to non-traditional suppliers.
- Strategic thinker who can support the synthesis of large amounts of information quickly and communicate key information areas to large audiences/venues, social media, external web presence, and internal portals and communication channels.
- Exceptional verbal, writing, and collaboration skills – relationship builder.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, decision-making, and multi-tasking abilities; enjoys meeting the needs of internal and external customers.
- Passion for public sector impact.
- Secret clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership support role with industry organizations, technology councils, and incubators, technology accelerators and/or tech start-up ecosystems focused on government or dual-use tech.
- Public Private Partnership and/or OT/OTA management and development.
- IP Tech Transfer / IP Tech Transition / Commercialization of Technology licensing experience with certification.
- GenAI and SharePoint development skills.
