Position Overview

The Technology Sales Executive partners with our valued clients and prospects to maximize the benefits of our HCM platform. They are responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our existing clients and field sales associates in the HCM industry. They serve as their primary point of contact for technology products and applications, ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services, and collaborating closely with them to identify opportunities for improvement and growth. This role requires a deep understanding of HCM solutions, the technology and security roles in an organization, and the ability to provide strategic guidance to clients and prospects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Understand client and prospects needs and business goals to provide tailored solutions and recommendations.
  • Using sales and negotiation skills, present Paylocity products and services that meet client’s and prospects’ needs, conduct product demonstrations via the web, prepare and present proposals, and provide appropriate follow-up throughout the sales and implementation process.
  • Close ancillary business to meet or exceed assigned monthly sales quotas while maintaining or exceeding minimum sales activity standards.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of Paylocity services, competitors services, products, internal sales tools, and processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to clients on how to maximize the value of our products.

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years sales experience, particularly in SaaS markets selling B2B IT solutions
  • Self-driven, ambitious professional with the desire to consistently meet and exceed assigned quotas.
  • Ability to persuade and negotiate.
  • Strong active listening skills to be able to uncover client needs and objectives.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills to effectively present Paylocity.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency with the Internet and MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desired Experience

  • Experience selling MDM, Identity Management solutions, or other IT related solutions.
  • Familiarity with IT products such as Google, Azure, Sigle sign-on Solutions (SSO), Cloud services integrations, Workflow automation, Endpoint security software, and CRM systems
  • Experience with MEDDPICC or SPIN method sales

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and copiers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and email.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 5 pounds as needed (e.g., moving office supplies or small packages).
  • Ability to bend, reach, or stoop as needed to access file cabinets, office equipment, or other resources.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at a desk or workstation for extended periods of time, including using a computer or writing.

Full-Time Remote (U.S. Only)

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance.

Base Pay Range

The base pay range for this position is $60,000 - $85,000 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for our variable commission plan, annual bonus, and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
