About the role
Resource Innovations is seeking a Technical Writer & Editor in California to join our Stakeholder Engagement and Communications team. This position will be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team implementing the engagement and communication strategy across channels and platforms for California's market transformation program. CalMTA focuses on developing initiatives that accelerate adoption of emerging and underutilized energy efficiency technologies, services, and practices resulting in significant environmental and social benefits.
Responsibilities
- Researching and writing reports and creating content for other materials summarizing CalMTA's work and initiatives.
- Providing technical copy editing, fact check, and sourcing of reports and studies developed by partners and contractors.
- Concepting and creating high quality, data-driven visuals to support the sharing of information.
- Developing presentation material that delivers on key messages and outcomes.
- Supporting document production and adherence to CalMTA brand standards and messaging.
- Participating in planning and execution of activities to promote CalMTA activities and progress.
- Functions as a cooperative and cohesive member of project teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be located in the state of California
- B.S. or B.A. preferred
- 5+ years work experience in energy efficiency and subject matter knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience writing and editing a range of technical documents and marketing documents
- Comfortable working with technical material for editing, fact checking, and citing work
- Experience with data visualization and concepting technical content for graphical representation
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite particularly formatting styles in Word and PowerPoint
- Highly motivated and positive attitude
- Superior organization and time management skills
- Commitment to high-quality partner and team service and the ability to address issues/concerns
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work with a variety of team members and dynamic project demands
- Interest or experience in a field related to energy or sustainability
- High degree of inter-cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness
