Responsibilities
- Tap into curiosity and collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world.
- Support the PSD USAC Service & Repair team in meeting customer demands for service support.
- Maintain professional relationships with both 3M and external personnel.
- Communicate effectively with 3M team members and leadership on NPI and product improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain product technical support documentation.
- Create and write 3M product repair manuals for internal and external service networks.
- Instruct technician certification training on supported PSD 3M products.
- Serve as an internal liaison between 3M Service & Repair, Sales, Engineering, and Product Quality to resolve product technical problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher AND three (3) years of technical writing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- High School Diploma/GED AND seven (7) years of technical writing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Competency with desktop publishing tools and computers in general, including experience using Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and research skills.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in the emergency response/firefighting, or fall protection industries.
- Understanding of commercial sales/service models.
- Ability to lift and place items or products weighing approximately 25 lbs. or less on a regular basis.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Vocational/Trade, Technical diploma AND three (3) years’ experience of technical/mechanical/product service or repair in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Three (3) years’ experience in developing and conducting technical training through direct assistance, and technician training sessions.
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
- Compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $84,595 - $103,394, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
Schedule
Onsite at the 3M Scott Fire and Safety Facility in Monroe NC. May include up to 30% domestic travel.
