About the role

We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our Daifuku Technical Documentation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and controls proficiency, along with a solid understanding of documentation practices, compliance regulations, and manufacturing workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, develop written materials, validate content accuracy, and edit documents for publication.
  • Interpret a variety of source materials, including procedural markups, engineering drawings, parts lists, and draft assembly for maintenance and installation instructions.
  • Collect information from subject matter experts to structure, develop, and write technical service documentation.
  • Adapt to Daifuku editorial and review processes, meet deadlines consistently, track and evaluate progress, and leverage available resources to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Maintain strict adherence to style guidelines and accuracy standards.
  • Communicate complex engineering concepts clearly and translate them into content appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Utilize CAD software to discern changes in products and translate those changes into effective written communication.
  • Produce draft illustrations—using model files or existing artwork—to support descriptive text.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • +2 years of technical writing experience
  • Experience with AI tools for technical writing, such as automated content generation, translation, and metadata tagging
  • Preferred experience in distribution center, manufacturing warehousing, or packaging machine environments

Education and Experience

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
  • Exposure to industrial automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA)
  • Knowledge of ANSI/ISO graphics and writing standards
  • Experience with the Microsoft suite, Adobe software, and Autodesk programs
  • Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD and SolidWorks Composer software
  • Familiar with structured topic-based (DITA) technical writing including experience with PTC Arbortext XML editor or equivalent authoring tool
