Technical Writer | Location: Onsite Jackson, MS | Contract | Hourly Pay Range: $50-$60 We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer specializing in information security governance to develop and maintain enterprise security documentation. This role involves collaborating with cybersecurity teams, compliance professionals, and subject matter experts to produce clear, accurate, and enforceable security policies, standards, and operational procedures aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop, revise, and maintain enterprise information security policies and standards.Create operational procedures, implementation guides, and security documentation.Maintain security baselines and secure configuration documentation.Review compliance documentation for technical accuracy, consistency, and completeness.Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers, architects, and compliance personnel to document security controls and operational processes.Support document version control and periodic policy reviews.Ensure documentation aligns with applicable cybersecurity frameworks, industry best practices, and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications Proven experience developing information security policies, standards, procedures, and governance documentation.Strong technical writing experience within cybersecurity, information security, or IT governance.Experience creating documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to organize complex technical information into clear, actionable documentation. Preferred Qualifications Experience with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST SP 800-53, IRS Publication 1075, CIS Controls, and other security governance standards.Knowledge of identity and access management, incident response, vulnerability management, disaster recovery, and vendor risk management.Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, Security+, GIAC, or CIPP.Experience supporting compliance initiatives and security audits.Ability to interpret cybersecurity frameworks and translate technical requirements into enforceable governance documentation.Experience working in regulated environments.
