Pay Rate: $41.30/hourDuration: 1 year contract initiallyLocation: Remote (CA residents only)Location of Team: Brea, CA OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join a product team responsible for generating and releasing regulated end-user and service documentation for diagnostic hardware and software. Documentation may include:Product manualsAddendumsField service manualsChange tracking documentationApproval and release documentation The Technical Writer develops and designs instructional and informational content to ensure the safe, appropriate, and effective use of products. This position requires concise, grammatically excellent, topic-based writing, along with strong communication, organizational, and project management skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable working within a content management system and managing documentation throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial drafts and reviews through final edits, approvals, and release. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities is also required. This position will consult frequently with software developers, engineers, technical support, training teams, project teams, project managers, product managers, technical documentation representatives, and management to gather information and ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable regulatory requirements. ResponsibilitiesUse technical writing expertise to collaborate with subject matter experts and produce high-quality, accurate technical documentation.Develop and maintain regulated end-user and service documentation for diagnostic hardware and software.Create and deliver global product labeling and technical content.Develop instructional and informational content that supports the safe and effective use of products.Write and maintain content using a topic-based authoring system.Manage documentation through drafting, review, editing, approval, and release processes.Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to obtain and validate technical information.Ensure documentation meets applicable regulatory and quality requirements.Track documentation changes and manage required approvals.Communicate project status, risks, issues, and priorities to project and core teams, project management, technical writers, coordinators, and management.Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.Meet deadlines with minimal supervision.Support documentation projects and related technical publications activities as needed. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or a related field.3+ years of relevant technical writing experience.Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, grammatically correct, and technically accurate content.Experience developing technical documentation in a regulated environment.Experience writing in a topic-based authoring system.Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to documentation quality.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision. Preferred QualificationsExperience with SDL Tridion Docs.Experience using DITA for technical documentation.Experience writing documentation for localization.Experience developing documentation for diagnostic, laboratory, medical device, or other regulated products.Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, software developers, product teams, technical support, and training organizations.
