About the Opportunity: The Technical Writer role is designed to support the development and refinement of technical documentation. This position contributes by creating clear, accurate written materials that facilitate communication across various stakeholders and support federal program delivery. The role is integral in ensuring technical content meets required standards and aids in the effective dissemination of program information.
Responsibilities
- Assist in originating, preparing, and editing technical reports, guidance documents, brochures, SOPs, and manuals.
- Research and analyze literature and program documentation to ensure content accuracy.
- Verify content with program offices, subject matter experts, analysts, engineers, and other departments.
- Support coordination of production, scheduling, and distribution of materials across program offices and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with DOE standards and clear communication in Technical Assistance delivery.
- Prepare draft summaries, templates, visual aids, and content outlines for senior staff review.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree.
- Up to 3 years of relevant experience supporting documentation and writing under senior staff oversight.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain federal clearance up to Top Secret/DOE Q levels.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize complex information into clear content.
- Foundational understanding of technical writing or documentation processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn DOE systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
