Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documents including procedures, work instructions, specifications, and reports
- Translate engineering and manufacturing processes into clear, user-friendly documentation
- Standardize document structure, formatting, and language across departments
- Review and revise documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with current processes
- Support management of controlled documents through revision, approval, and release processes
- Maintain version control and ensure documents are current and accessible
- Ensure records are properly organized, stored, and retrievable in accordance with company procedures
- Aid in document change control and configuration management processes
- Ensure documentation aligns with applicable standards (e.g., NQA-1, ISO 9001, DOE/NRC requirements as applicable)
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and records
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support document retention practices
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to gather technical information and validate content
- Support rollout and implementation of new or revised procedures and work instructions
- Aid teams in understanding documentation requirements and best practices
- Support implementation and improvement of document management and records systems
- Identify opportunities to improve documentation workflows, clarity, and usability
- Develop templates and guidelines for consistent technical documentation
Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience
- Have 2–5 years of experience in document control, technical writing, or records management in a regulated or industrial environment
- Show strong writing, editing, and document organization skills with high attention to detail
- Have experience translating technical or engineering content into clear documentation
- Show familiarity with document control or quality systems (e.g., NQA-1, ISO 9001, or similar)
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and document formatting tools
- Be able to manage multiple documents and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Have experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries (a plus)
