Responsibilities

• Draft, write, edit, format, proofread, and manage system technical documents for a family of systems.
• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, operations, testing, and user documentation.
• Coordinate with Task Leads, System and Software Engineers, System Administrators, Information Assurance, and System Testers to ensure documentation remains up-to-date and compliant with government-provided templates.
• Create code documentation, implementation guides, and end-user guides for capabilities.
• Provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation.
• Format technical publications from pamphlets and technical drawings.

Requirements

• Experience preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents, including software and systems engineering, operations, testing, and user documentation.
• Experience writing and editing technical documentation for hardware and software projects, including installation, configuration, and how-to documentation.
• Experience creating code documentation for software.
• Experience producing implementation guides and end-user guides.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence.
• Ability to provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation.
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, or a High School Diploma and 10+ years of equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience using the MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Basic manipulation of graphics (JPG, TIFF, PDF, PNG).
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and other technical graphics.
• Experience conducting research and ensuring proper technical terminology.
• Experience organizing and writing according to an established standard.
• Working knowledge of IT systems and common IT terminology.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $62.50 to $85.73 per hour, based on factors including location, education, skills, experience, and organizational requirements.
