Purpose of Position: The Technical Writer will simplify complex technical information into clear documentation that can be easily understood by various audiences. Their technical writing will enable Player Support to innovate and maximize its technologies that serve our player help experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Gather business requirements from the product team to define and author comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Clearly communicate product requirements, scope, benefits, and results as appropriate to various levels of the business.
  • Assist the Player Support product group in managing the lifecycle of a product from its conception to release.
  • Help establish acceptance criteria for the project test strategy and test plans.
  • Work with the Player Support Product, Design, Engineering, and Production teams to execute various technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Activision Publishing.
  • Attend stand-ups, grooming sessions, estimation meetings, retrospectives, and other product meetings with key stakeholders on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • 3-4+ years of experience writing functional, non-functional, technical requirements for software products.
  • Proficient in writing documentation for business and technical workflows, structuring requirement documents, and documenting complex specifications.
  • Background in computer science or data science undergraduate degree or other technical degree is a plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering on time and meeting organizational commitments.
  • Experience working with third party services, APIs, and content management systems.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Helpshift, AEM, and cloud solutions is a plus.
  • Background in customer service is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and reporting skills is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of software development practices and data center / infrastructure / virtualization / networking / compute / storage / databases technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Agile software product development.
  • Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, or related project management tools is a plus.

Pay

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $63,360.00 - $117,200.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
