About the role
Oracle Health is seeking a dedicated writer with a passion for enhancing the healthcare experience through user assistance materials. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining user assistance materials for clinicians, system administrators, and other Oracle employees.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including user assistance developers, technical writers, engineering, and product management.
- Facilitate discussions with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of user assistance deliverables.
- Mentor others on user assistance and documentation processes, standards, and best practices.
- Participate in complex, high-profile user assistance development initiatives.
- Author, publish, and maintain original content; review content authored by peers and help identify defects early in the documentation cycle.
- Evaluate engineering projects and their customer impact to define user assistance materials requirements, facilitate reviews with subject matter experts, and consult with testing partners or other customers.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex documentation and recommend the best approach to customer-facing documentation.
- Manage the complete user assistance workflow; edit and review various forms of documentation for quality as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of user assistance development or relevant experience, including a bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Instructional Design, or another related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proven ability to think critically, solve problems, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment.
- Enthusiastic about information design and knowledgeable about current trends and technologies in the field.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with the knowledge management lifecycle for document creation, reviews, and updates.
- Experience working across global teams and creating content for a global audience.
- Demonstrated usage of industry-standard style and writing guidelines (such as the Microsoft Style Guide).
- Working knowledge of XML, HTML, CSS, and other web-based code related to the delivery of written and visual content.
- Experience with knowledge base and ticketing systems, such as Confluence and Jira.
