Technical Training Instructor

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Technical Training Instructor to support a premium Automotive OEM at the OEM training facility in Atlanta, GA. This role focuses on training dealership technicians in diagnostic strategies and proper repair of vehicle systems by facilitating service technical training classes at the Regional Training Center.

Responsibilities

• Prepare workshops and vehicles for experiential learning.
• Facilitate training workshops for dealership technicians to improve diagnosis and repair competencies.
• Ensure the Regional Training Facility, tools, student guides, literature, vehicles, and training center are properly maintained.
• Verify learners’ understanding of subject matter using competency-based training.
• Identify additional training needs based on learners’ feedback and skills assessment.
• Maintain attendee training records in the learning portal.
• Collaborate with Corporate, Regional, and Dealership teams to achieve training department goals.
• Perform light to medium lifting as part of shop operation management.
• Travel and train at additional locations as required.
• Assist Corporate Training staff in developing technical training curriculum.
• Assist the Program Manager with scheduling for effective curriculum coverage.
• Enhance technical instructional facilitation skills, vehicle systems knowledge, and diagnostic technology.
• Comply with health and safety standards and maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and follow published 5S standards.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and supplier personnel.
• Use and maintain workshop equipment to operational standards.
• Take reasonable precautions to protect company vehicles.

Requirements

• 6+ years of work experience in automotive technical repair and diagnostics.
• 3+ years of experience training OEM dealership technicians.
• Professional Certification (OEM Master Technician or ASE Master Technician).
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Experience preparing classrooms, workshops, and vehicles for learning.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Charismatic personality with a passion for adult education.
• Strong classroom facilitation and shop management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with electric vehicle technology (plus).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (plus).
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Automotive Technology (plus).
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred.

Pay

The wage range for this role is $105,000 to $120,000 annually, based on experience and other business considerations.
