About the role
Per Scholas is seeking a part-time AWS DevOps instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, problem-solving, adaptable, and accountable. The position supports instructor-led training preparing students for AWS DevOps careers.
Responsibilities
- Daily instruction
- Assessment administration
- Attendance management
- One-on-one tutoring
- Daily evaluation and monitoring of student progress
- Addressing student violations consistently
- Providing access to relevant resources for outside learning
- Closely working with the team to identify student needs
- Maintaining and updating Salesforce and/or LMS with student grades, certification scores, and progress notes
- Supporting and maintaining training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and classroom materials
Requirements
- 1-3 years of teaching or training experience
- Strong technical background; able to convey highly technical subject matter
- Technical skills: AWS Professional Mastery, SDLC Automation, Infrastructure as Code, Observability & Logging, High Availability & Resilience, Security & Governance, Serverless & Event Automation
- Active AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional certification is preferred
- Generative AI Integration, Advanced Scripting, Cloud Architecture skills are preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical/industry experience)
- Strong technical aptitude (Google Sheets/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, etc.)
- Excellent written communication, presentation, and customer service skills
- Strong evaluation and data management skills
- Prior knowledge or background in IT (if minimal, a desire and willingness to learn what’s needed)
- A passion for technology
Skills
- Instructional Skill Sets: Teaching or training experience, technical background, clear communication, response to digital conversations, and hands-on technical expertise.
- Required Skill Sets: AWS certifications, automation, observability, high availability, security, serverless, and event automation.
- Preferred Skill Sets: Generative AI integration, advanced scripting, cloud architecture.
