Technical Instructor (AWS Machine Learning)

About the role

Per Scholas is seeking an AWS Machine Learning instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, problem-solving, adaptable, and accountable. The position supports instructor-led training preparing students for AI and Machine Learning careers on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Daily instruction
• Assessment administration
• Attendance management
• One-on-one tutoring
• Daily evaluation and monitoring of student progress
• Addressing student violations consistently
• Providing students with relevant resources for outside learning
• Working closely with the team to identify student needs, provide support, and establish individualized plans
• Maintaining and updating Salesforce and/or LMS with student grades, certification scores, and progress notes
• Supporting and maintaining training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and classroom materials

Requirements

• 1-3 years of teaching or training experience
• Strong technical background, able to convey complex topics
• Ability to engage in live digital conversations via platforms like Zoom
• Excellent communication skills
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent industry experience)
• Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy), SQL, Google Sheets/Excel, and project management
• Strong technical aptitude, including familiarity with Google Slides/PowerPoint, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, etc.
• Active AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate or AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate credential

Preferred Skills

• Programming mastery: Python (Pandas, NumPy) and SQL
• Professional qualifications: Strong technical aptitude, project management, organizational skills, detailed follow-through, excellent written and oral communication, data management, evaluation, and public speaking skills
• Prior knowledge or background in IT (if minimal, willingness to learn)
• A passion for technology
