About the role

AWS Enterprise Support is looking for a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to support customers' innovation across technologies including Compute, Storage, Database, Machine Learning, AI, Big Data, Security, Networking, and Serverless. This is not a sales role, but an opportunity to be the strategic technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' to National Security customers.

What you will do

  • Help craft and execute strategies to drive customers' adoption and use of AWS services including EC2, S3, DynamoDB & RDS databases, Lambda, SageMaker, ECS/EKS, GuardDuty, Systems Manager, CodePipeline, IoT, and many more
  • Effectively represent AWS within a customer's environment and drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices
  • Proactively keep customers' AWS environments operationally healthy
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business/operational needs and technical challenges
  • Help customers achieve the greatest value from AWS

Basic qualifications

  • Current, active TS/SCI US Government Security Clearance with polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or 2+ years of technical work experience
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience
  • Experience in information technology operations

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environment as a technical lead
  • 5+ years of communicating with and presenting to executive and senior audiences
  • Experience with development in a distributed systems environment
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment
  • Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
  • Experience recognizing a challenge and working with a variety of teams and data sources to diagnose problems and recommend solutions
  • Federal/DoD Clearances
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars and ability to properly apply them to existing or new customer architecture, implementations, and/or solutions

Pay and benefits

  • Base salary range: $131,300 - $177,600 USD annually (location: Jessup, MD)
