Teachers: Elementary LINKS Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program

Contingent on enrollment, funding, and programming for the Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program.

About the role

Reports to the Building Principal or designee. This position is funded through various sources.

Pay

• $50.00/hour working with students
• $29.10/hour for prep time

Schedule

• Program Schedule: July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026, 8:00 am – 1:45 pm
• Work Schedule: July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026, 7:30 am – 2:00 pm
• Mandatory training date(s) to be selected by the Summer Coordinator and communicated by the School Program Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Keep student attendance records and follow up on absenteeism.
• Provide timely information to families and students.
• Prevent regression through academic, gross motor, and/or social skills instruction as outlined in students' IEPs.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times.
• Assume responsibility for office and clerical work associated with the Extended Year Program.
• Communicate student attendance and retention of skills during the program to the students' 2026-2027 schools.
• Assist with feeding, diapering, and personal hygiene as needed.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Head Teacher of the summer program.

Qualifications

• Preference given to teachers currently employed in the LINKS Program in Springfield Public Schools.
• Ability to modify curriculum and accommodate students as needed.
• Facility in implementing students' IEPs to meet their individual needs.
• Ability to manage classroom staff and collaborate with other professionals to provide a quality educational experience.
• Professional communication skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population and staff pool.
