Contingent on enrollment, funding, and programming for the Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program.

About the role

Reports to the Building Principal or designee. This position is part of the LINKS Extended Year Program, focusing on preventing regression through academic, gross motor, and social skills instruction as outlined in students’ IEPs.

Responsibilities

  • Keep student attendance records and follow up on absenteeism.
  • Provide timely information to families and students.
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times.
  • Assume responsibility for office and clerical work associated with the program.
  • Communicate student attendance and skill retention to students’ 2026-2027 schools.
  • Assist with feeding, diapering, and personal hygiene as needed.
  • Modify curriculum and accommodate students to meet individual needs as per IEPs.
  • Manage classroom staff and collaborate with other professionals.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Head Teacher.

Requirements

  • Preference given to teachers currently employed in the LINKS Program in Springfield Public Schools.
  • Ability to modify curriculum and accommodate students as needed.
  • Facility in implementing students’ IEPs to meet their individual needs.
  • Ability to manage classroom staff and work with other professionals.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population and staff pool.

Pay

  • $50.00/hour for time working directly with students.
  • $29.10/hour for prep time.

Schedule

  • Program Schedule: July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026, 8:00 AM – 1:45 PM.
  • Work Schedule: July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026, 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM.
  • Mandatory training date(s) to be selected and communicated by the Summer Program Coordinator.
