Teacher Aid

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Teachers, administrators, and educational leadership.
• Aid the Head Teacher and Assistant Teacher with the daily operations of the classroom.
• Work with children in small groups or individually, facilitate the transfer and escort of children to and from classrooms, supervise and monitor children, and keep the classroom clean and orderly.
• Demonstrate awareness of classroom activities at all times.
• Move to areas where adults are most needed when not assigned to a particular area.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
• Facilitate and support the intake, transfer, and escort of children to and from the lobby space and classrooms.
• Supervise children during fire drills and emergency drills.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to cover for staff as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Some college coursework in Education is a plus.
• Experience working with young children.
• Ability to work with children and families.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Practices and Guidelines.
• Ability to foster and maintain positive, professional relationships with staff and participants.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - oral, written, and listening.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and ability to navigate diverse online assessment tools.
