What You'll Do
- Assist in instruction based on approved curriculum.
- Assist in the implementation of developmentally appropriate lesson plans to meet the needs of individual students.
- Assist in the maintenance of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Assist in the creation of a functional and organized environment for learning.
- Assist in escorting students around the school building, providing supervision across all environments including in the classroom, gym, lavatory, breaks, and lunch.
- Assist in preparing their classroom bulletin boards and displays as required by teacher or education leadership.
- Assist in specific aspects of grading and maintain accurate records of students' academic and behavior performance.
- Assist teacher in daily preparations for the day.
- Reinforce lessons by working with students one-on-one or in small groups, reviewing materials, and assisting with activities.
- Maintain a positive and organized learning environment by assisting with classroom setup, distributing materials, and supervising students during various academic and social activities.
- Assist in implementing Positive Behavior Support Plan, behavior management strategies, safety plans and addressing student behavior issues.
- Utilize and implement behavior management, communication, conflict resolution techniques, progressive crisis intervention, and perform Safe Crisis Management, when required.
- Complete/maintain daily behavior data tracking and other essential paperwork as needed.
- Complete medication administration training, if applicable. Administer medications to students based upon the medication administration rotation calendar if applicable.

Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and/or Associate Degree.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive/professional relationships with students and staff.
- Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communication; and to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to apply knowledge of educational theory to instructional programs and to assist in the implementation of lessons based on curriculum objectives and the needs and abilities of students.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- 1st Shift – 7am-3pm
