About the role
This position reports to the Wynne Unit Tire Shop on a daily basis. Duties include direct supervision of inmate workers in a fast-paced mechanical/tire shop.
Responsibilities
- Light repairs of the agency's heavy-duty fleet and equipment, including tire changes, inspections, and preventative maintenance
- Providing wrecker services in and around Huntsville, Texas, and surrounding areas
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
- At least two years of experience in one of the following:
- Vehicle maintenance or repair
- Heavy-equipment repair
- Metal forming or fabricating
- Automotive parts sales
Qualifications
You’d be a GREAT fit if you also have:
- Passenger (P) endorsement
- Wrecker experience
- Commitment to supporting and accomplishing the facility’s mission
Additional Information
- Pre-Service Training Academy required
- Hazardous Duty/Longevity position
- Outside applicants will be required to submit to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship or financial assistance
