About the role
This position reports to Wynne Unit License Plate Factory on a daily basis. Duties include oversight of the License Plate Factory operations and staff, direct supervision of staff members and indirect supervision of incarcerated inmates. This License Plate Factory is responsible for the production of all license plates for the state of Texas. Day-to-day functions include oversight of all production operations, security of the factory, procurement functions and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience in the manufacture of license plates or production/manufacturing operations, and will be goal-oriented, organized, and detail-oriented. The candidate will also have a desire to build and lead a team, prioritize staff development, and have the ability to problem solve and develop long-term solutions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma with two years, full-time, wage-earning experience in the manufacture of license plates
- Four years full-time, wage-earning experience in any production or manufacturing operation

- Goal-oriented
- Organized and able to maintain efficient ordering of materials to maintain a constant flow of production
- Detail-oriented and able to keep meticulous records
- Desire to build and lead a team to provide critical resources to the agency
- Prioritize development of the staff you oversee
- Ability to problem solve and develop long-term solutions
Skills
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to maintain efficient production operations and prioritize staff development.
Work Environment
Travel is not required, but the position may make day trips. The work site is located at the Wynne Unit License Plate Factory, and the position is considered hazardous duty.
