TDCJ - Industrial Specialist IV - Metal Fab Metal

About the role

This position reports to the Metal Fab Facility depending on the vacancies on a daily basis.

Duties

• Overseeing work of inmates on assigned tasks
• Reviewing raw material requirements
• Requisitioning supplies, machinery and equipment
• Preparing reports of operations and related documentation to include quality and quantity of production
• Maintaining security of tools, machinery, and equipment
• All other marginal duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications

• Eighteen months full-time experience in metal fabrication OR three years full-time experience in any production or manufacturing operation
• Correctional or law enforcement experience
• Thirty semester hours from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) may be substituted for each year of experience on a year-for-year basis for a maximum substitution of two years

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of methods and procedures along with problem solving techniques used in a metal fabrication facility
• Experience with quality control standards in relation to production and understanding workflow procedures in a manufacturing environment
• Great communication skills and ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly to staff, administration, and workers within the facility
• Knowledge of methods and procedures for metal fabrication and properties of metal
