About the role
This position reports to the Byrd Modular Installation Office on a daily basis. Duties include performing advanced work in the installation of furniture and various other products.
Responsibilities
- Oversees inmates in the performance of assigned tasks; plans schedules of operations; and ensures accountability for equipment, tools, and parts.
- Assists in evaluating installation operations and ensures conformance to quality standards; prepares and maintains reports regarding operations; makes related recommendations; and makes sales calls to current and potential customers.
- Arranges for transportation and housing of assigned inmates from units and local jails near project sites; ensures available funds for inmate meals; coordinates delivery or pick-up of products; and maintains evaluations and records of training activities and proficiencies.
- Maintains security of tools, machinery, and equipment; responds to emergency situations; performs various correctional and custodial support functions; and assists in maintaining security of assigned inmates.
Requirements
- Criminal justice experience.
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
- Detailed-oriented.
- Strong work ethic.
Qualifications
- 18 months full-time, wage-earning modular furniture installation experience.
- Three years full-time, wage-earning production or manufacturing experience.
- Experience in the supervision of inmates.
- Furniture or drapery installation experience.
