Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and acquisition support to the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE)
- Manage the T-6B Texan II primary fixed-wing training aircraft
- Support critical systems engineering activities related to the sustainment, upgrades, and safety of the T-6B Texan II platform
- Maintain oversight of system performance, integration, and airworthiness to ensure fleet readiness and overall training mission effectiveness
- Coordinate with stakeholders across NAVAIR, training squadrons, and contractors to align engineering goals and drive project success
- Contribute to risk management efforts, develop technical documentation, and ensure complete compliance with naval acquisition standards
- Perform technical research, analysis, and development of technologies to support the evaluation of technical performance and mission suitability
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years of recent and relevant systems engineering experience
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, risk tracking, and compliance records
Qualifications
- Familiarity with fixed-wing aircraft systems, flight training operations, or acquisition support for fixed-wing platforms
- Engineering expertise supporting complex aviation or weapons systems platforms
- Experience working within a NAVAIR program office, ideally supporting PMA-273 or another aircraft platform program
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
