Systems Engineer

About the role

The ideal candidate will possess specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, with a general knowledge of related fields and application implications. As a Systems Engineer, you will provide in-depth analysis and technical support for systems software products, ensuring seamless integration and user support. You will also assist in planning and conversion for new hardware/software products, maintaining currency and configuring related software products.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized expertise within multiple systems and software disciplines, offering technical support and problem resolution.
• Perform in-depth analysis and support for systems software products, including design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
• Assist in planning and conversion for new hardware/software products, ensuring smooth transitions and upgrades.
• Maintain currency, debug, and configure related software products to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct operating systems planning and evaluation for performance analysis, capacity planning, and hardware upgrades.
• Develop or modify operating systems applications based on specifications, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve overall efficiency of the operating system.
• Prepare comprehensive product documentation to support system operations and user understanding.
• Interface with customers to gather information on system requirements or problems, ensuring solutions meet their needs.

Requirements

• Active DOD Secret Clearance or be immediately eligible to obtain one.
• Eight (8) years of experience in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology.
• Experience working in an AGILE environment.
• Leverage cloud native technologies and capabilities such as machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize application user experience, reporting, and automation for seamless operations.
• Make recommendations for and implement architectural and engineering changes by leveraging cloud native capabilities to reduce operational cost and improve performance.
• Experience in web component applications, XML, including schema definitions & generation (XSD), relational databases, and serving as a Webmaster.
• Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority, demonstrating expertise in software systems engineering.

Qualifications

• IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Secret clearance at the time of proposal submission.
