Switchboard PBX Operator PRN

About the Role

As our PBX Operator PRN, you will promptly answer all incoming calls and assist in placing outgoing calls, overhead page appropriate personnel, greet all hospital visitors, and provide accurate hospital directions. You will respond to code phone or code wall panel alarms, prioritizing all calls except fire alarms, and ensure appropriate personnel are notified. You will monitor fire panel alarms and phones, contacting the fire department and relevant personnel when needed. Additionally, you will address hospital visitor questions and complaints, seeking guidance from the Director of Security as necessary. Other duties include placing and processing long-distance and Watts Line calls for various departments and doctors' offices, assisting patient rooms with local and long-distance call placement, and processing, forwarding, and delivering patient mail and flowers with volunteer assistance.

Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of switchboard operator or customer service experience is preferred
• Medical terminology is a plus
