Sustainability Project Manager

Job Summary

The Project Manager - WMSS is responsible for providing strategic guidance towards the compliant, safe and efficient handling and processing of all Waste Streams contracted by the facility(s). Ensures the services provided to the facility(s) by Stericycle consistently meet service expectations, regulatory and safety compliance measures, and are provided in a productive and profitable manner. This position will have local travel, mostly day trips with the occasional overnight.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintains operational efficiencies and assists in achieving performance and cost goals through the use of cost tracking tools and reviewing invoices for accuracy.
• Identifies and implements strategies to reduce costs while fulfilling contractual obligations.
• Provides strategic consultative support to hospital staff to manage all contracted waste streams safely and compliantly.
• Serves as the primary liaison for managing all contracted waste streams.
• Displays expert knowledge on various regulations associated with the waste streams being managed (e.g., EPA, DOT, DEA, and any other state or local regulations).
• Conducts surveys for customers to identify compliance gaps and waste segregation opportunities using the Virtual Compliance Partner application.
• Projects manages the implementation of new compliance-based services, including tracking, coordinating, and communicating schedules and expectations to internal and external customers.
• Develops and delivers customized training for the implementation and maintenance of the contract.
• Regularly schedules and completes customer-facing activities focused on service satisfaction, relationship building, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry, or the equivalent in project/customer management experience, demonstrating excellent working knowledge of medical waste issues and the healthcare industry, and consultative skills to effectively deal with customers.
• Candidate must have functional experience with Microsoft products including PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams?
• Bachelor's Degree with experience in healthcare discipline preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating detailed knowledge of OSHA and/or EPA-RCRA and/or U.S. DOT, and/or The Joint Commission Standards.

Physical Requirements

This job operates in a mix between an office environment and plant/field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $56,100 - $80,500. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
